This is the last post from our trip to Italy, our last stop was Rome. It was such an awesome city. We stayed in the Campo dei Fiori neighborhood in an Air B&B. Our room was small but clean and had everything we needed, despite the four floors worth of skinny stairs up to the room. The neighborhood was awesome with lots of restaurants nearby and an open air market everyday we were there!
The first full day we were there we did a lot of site seeing, the Colosseum, Palentine Hill, the Roman Forum and the Trevi fountain at night. It was awesome to see all of the history in Rome. We ate at Spaghetteria L’Archetto that night which was recommended by a friend and it was delicious. They had like 200 different spaghetti combos to chose from!
The next day and our very last day in Italy we took off on a run with no camera and did some site seeing that way which was actually really fun! We went up along the river to Borghese gardens then we stumbled up on the Spanish steps and later went to the Pantheon. Our trip to Italy was just amazing and I wouldn’t change one thing about it!
For our first day of site seeing I wore this floral dress with my trusty chambray over it. I was also very excited to be using my brand new purse and these sandals never let me down during the trip!

This past weekend it was starting to feel like fall! We are having company next weekend so we dedicated our Saturday to running errands and getting the house in order! And maybe a little brunching! While running errands I like to be comfortable but I try not to look like I just rolled out of bed (although my Lululemons are frequently worn to the grocery store). This past weekend I threw on some jeans and a chambray. I pretty much wear a chambray every weekend, this one is so so so soft, I think I need it in this color too!
I think this is the debut of my other purchase from Parris in Florence. I love the leather that this bag is made of it is really durable and a very stylish structure. And flats are always perfect for errand running!
Current Elliot jeans (really cute jade version here)~~Cloth & Stone chambray (lighter version here)~~Banana Republic sweater (similar)~~Tory Burch flats~~Parris handbag~~Necklaces: Kate Spade (short version here) and Gorjana and Griffin, Bracelets: J.Crew, Gorjana and Griffin and Hermes, Watch: Burberry
Venice!Venice was everything I dreamed of! This city is so romantic and absolutely stunning! We stayed at a little bed and breakfast called Ca’Bonvicini. It was darling! I have heard horror stories of people staying in Venice where they paid way too much for a underwhelming room, but I was pleasantly surprised with our choice. The room was not very big (as expected) but it was decorating in white and gaudy gold which I thought was very fitting for the experience. We also had a little balcony off of our room and were centrally located (or right out of the super touristy area, which I prefer).
We enjoyed seeing all of the sites and getting lost within all of the small streets. After dinner when we were navigating our way home it started raining. Normally I would have been mad but the whole experience trying to find our hotel in the rain was so romantically fun! I would 100 percent recommend going to Venice when you visit Italy.
We got our first gelato here, it was delicious! I wore a maxi dress from Anthropologie with a Cloth & Stone (light version here) chambray over it.
Also wore: Sam Edelman sandals~~Botkier handbag (on sale here)~~J.Crew necklace (similar here)~~Burberry watch
While I was waiting for the “water bus” I read some of my book The Gravity of Birds by Tracey Guzeman (c/o). Also showing off my new Venetian glass candy, isn’t it so pretty!
Outfit details: Gap skinny jeans (love this version for fall)~~J.Crew tee~~ Sam Edelman sandals
Remember Lite-Brite! It was pretty much the coolest thing when I was little! It reminds me of Christmas time.. I would always make Christmas themed Lite-Brites! Anyway, I think I went on that tangent because these pants are so bright they remind me of the game! I wore this outfit on casual Friday to the office when I knew I was heading out after work. WIthout the tweed blazer and heels I do not think this outfit would have been as work appropriate. I like the mix of casual with sophistication.
Blank NYC jeans (also seen here)~~Cloth & Stone shirt (old, similar here)~~Banana Republic blazer (old, similar here on sale!)~~DVF wedges (on sale here)~~J.Crew earrings~~Burberry watch~BaubleBar necklace (similar here)
Another Working Girl Wednesday coming your way! That means we are half way through the week and now you have another work outfit idea! I know I have been raving about how nice it has been here but I rarely feel like I get to wear skirts or dresses without tights. Especially in the summer here it is freezing! But this was one of those glorious days I could go sans tights with my skirt. I love when I come up with ideas to wear my chambray to work. I usually feel like it looks to casual. But paired with a black pencil skirt and a light sweater it works for the office!
Not sure if you noticed but I recently got my haired dyed darker! At first I wasn’t sure but my fabulous hairstylist Julie at Le Reve encouraged me to do to it… and I love it! It is a nice change because I am pretty sure for the past 7 years I always tell her to do the same thing! Thank you Julie!!
Armani Exchange skirt (old, similar here)~~J.Crew chambray~~Banana Republic sweater (old, similar here)~~Vince Camuto shoes~~Gucci handbag (old, similar here)~~Jewelry: Burberry watch,David Yurman necklace, Hermes, J.Crew
It is hard to find the perfect chambray shirt. I have two. One darker and one lighter, as seen here. Once you find the perfect one it will seems as if it goes with everything. I like to wear mine with either colored jeans or a printed skirt or pants! For work, I try to keep the rest of my outfit dressy by pairing my chambray with a cardigan, under a sweater or even beneath a dress. Then add heels and jewels.
