Florence!Florence was amazing. We decided if we were to live in Italy, this is where we would live. We decided to splurge on a nice hotel here since we would also be celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary. On Jetsetter I found a deal on Hotel Regency, and it was worth it! The location was perfect, we were able to walk to everything. The room was nice and the breakfast (cappuccino) was delicious. They also made our reservations to the Uffizi and Accademia this way we didn’t have to wait in any lines!
One of my favorite moments is when we went on a run up to the Piazzale Michelangelo were we saw the most beautiful views. Another amazing moment (for me) was stumbling upon Parri’s, an amazing leather store that has been in business since 1954. They use the same tannery as Bottega Veneta and Chanel and you can tell the handbags were made by skilled craftsmen. I may or may have not indulged a bit!
We had some of our favorite meals in Florence. For our anniversary we went to Ristorante La Giostra which was hands down our best meal of the trip. I’ll just say we started out with burrata filled tortellini with truffles on top!!! We also had steaks, chocolate cake and the most delicious Chianti. We would also recommend Il Pizzaiuolo for tasty pizza and pasta. We also loved Vagalume, which was a cute wine bar with great appetizers, especially the cheese and meat plate.
